Marathon Blogging Starts Here

I haven't gotten very far in training for the NYC Marathon, but now at least I can write about it. Check out my new blog, Northeast Runner, which initially will contain my thoughts and experiences running around the northeast but could evolve into a money-making general interest site for runners in the region. Gotta start somewhere.

Also, this is my (Dave) first post on the Dave & Liz blog. I finally got myself logged in - and fixed the names setup so now our loyal readers can tell whether the latest post is from me or from my better half.

Happy Belated Easter

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Ours was spent quietly at home eating ham and potatoes after attending church at the United Methodist Church on the green. We then went for a hike at West Rock Ridge Park in New Haven, which includes beautiful views of the city and of Long Island Sound.

My cousin Ben is suppose to propose to his girlfriend Kira this week. They are on a cruise in the Caribbean, and my Aunt Susie says Ben is carrying the ring around waiting for just the right moment.

Kira was a big help at our wedding, helping mom get things ready at the reception site. Ben was an usher. That's them in the photo, taken during our wedding reception.

They live in New Orleans and likely will have the wedding there.

Hodgepodge

March? It's March? I can't believe that spring is just around the corner....

We spent the weekend in the Hudson Valley, visiting friends and closing some old bank accounts. It was nice to get back. We really loved living in Fishkill. There is something very majestic about that area of New York.

We are settling in and getting to know the neighborhood and city. The number of good restaurants to go to is truly overwhelming. We are a block down from a great sushi restaurant that creates unusual sushi rolls. One had tuna, goat cheese and dried cranberries. It was fabulous.

The big news out East is Eliot Spitzer's fall from grace as governor of New York. Dave and I both voted for him as governor in Nov. 2006. We just can't believe how hypocritical he is. He was"Mr. Clean," known for cracking down on bad business, corruption. Crazy.
