Vacation Bible School

Sam attended Vacation Bible School last week at Trinity Episcopal Church - the church we've been attending here in Wauwatosa. He had a blast! He didn't want to stay on the first day, but we couldn't get there fast enough the days that followed. Sam would come home and talk about strength, courage and God. I was a proud mama. On Friday - the last day - the kids (about 30 or so) did a performance. Unfortunately, Jonah, Dave and I couldn't attend because we were traveling to a wedding in Minneapolis. Papa and Grandma Debbie, however, took Henry to see the show. But our poor Sammy had stage fright -- yep, that's him in the video Papa took (check out the link) just standing there with his hands in his pockets. Oh, my Sammy.

Jonah's first ride in a swing

It's a short video because a mini-fight ensued between Sam and Henry over who would push Jonah. They have been fighting a lot over Jonah recently. Both of them love him so much. If only they felt the same about each other.....

'Tosa Night Out

Wauwatosa participates in the annual National Night Out - get-to-know your community, get involved, prevent crimes thing. We attended the 'Tosa Night Out on Tuesday. The evening included a train ride, a chance to spray a "burning building" with a real fire hose, games, food, music and - most important - bouncy castles. Sam didn't want to do the fire hose, but Henry did. It was hard to get a good photo, though, because he wouldn't let go of me.

Sam's 4th Birthday

Sam turned 4 on Saturday. 4! How did the time go by so fast? Papa and Grandma Debbie came to help celebrate. Sam said he didn't want a party, but he did want to go to Chuck E. Cheese. So, we went there for lunch and to play games. We then headed back to the house for cake, ice cream and presents. For supper, we grilled brats and hotdogs. I think he had a great time! Wisconsin State Fair

On Friday (after Jonah ate his first bite of food), we headed to the Wisconsin State Fair. I actually had never been to this fair and neither had Dave or the boys. We had lots of fun and ate lots of food, including corn dogs, a cream puff and fried pickles. The highlight was a ride on the giant slide. Photos: State Fair 2013
